ABOUT THE ARTIST
C. Anthony Bryant a native of Washington, DC has been performing since the age of two. A sought after vocalist, composer, choral conductor and vocal coach, Bryant has performed in houses of worship, clubs, concert halls, and opera houses both in the United States and abroad.
Having earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, and a Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music, New York, NY; Bryant truly is a master of his craft and instrument.
Bryant has shared the stage with and done live background vocal work for many gospel and secular artists such as Yolanda Adams, Karen Clark-Sheard, Daryl Coley, and Chaka Khan to name a few. In 2003 Bryant was asked to join in work on the soundtrack for the film “Fighting Temptations” which afforded him the opportunity to work with Shirley Caesar and participate in backing vocals for Beyonce Knowles.
Though best known for his stirring gospel, soul, jazz, and musical theatre performances, Bryant is winner of classical voice awards from The National Association of Teachers of Singing, and The Links Foundation. In 2012, Bryant ended production as a day player and studio vocalist on Spike Lee’s Red Hook Summer. Most recently, Bryant released his debut album in January 2015 entitled “Hymnody vol. 1”. This album is a collection of hymns performed in various styles.
Bryant currently serves as Minister of Music for Youth and Worship Leader at the Abyssinian Baptist Church of New York City.
